July 30, 2018ST. LOUIS: March 30, 2014 – On a cold Saturday, The Audit Group, Inc. (TAG) participated in an Undy 5K race fundraiser to support the Colon Cancer Alliance. CCA promotes colon screenings to prevent colon cancer or to identify colorectal cancer early in order to treat it.
Recent national and local news stories have reported high success rates in reducing colorectal cancer deaths in the US due to screenings. The CCA says colorectal cancer is one of the top three cancer killers in the US. It says a colon screening can prevent over 90% of colon cancer cases. A screening detects and eliminates colon polyps before they become malignant, or identifies colorectal cancer so it can be treated.
The Undy 5K is a signature event of CCA to bring awareness to the importance of colon screenings. Races are held throughout the US. The local event was co-sponsored by St. Louis University Hospital.
TAG’s Nick Gillen recorded the fastest time of the TAG Team, finishing the 3.1 mile course in 24 minutes, 25 seconds (chip time). Gillen finished 54th overall in a field of 1395 runners.
TAG is a national healthcare consulting company based in Chesterfield, MO.
