September 26, 2013KU Medical Center Selects The Audit Group for AP/Purchasing Review
December 19, 2013COOPER UNIVERSITY HEALTH SELECTS THE AUDIT GROUP FOR ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/PURCHASING REVIEW AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ recently chose The Audit Group, Inc. (TAG) of Chesterfield, MO to conduct a review of its accounts payable and purchasing stream for process improvements and fund recoveries. Cooper is the clinical campus of the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
It operates a Level 1 Trauma Center; institutes to research and treat cancer, heart issues, bone and joint concerns, and neurosciences. It also has a critical care facility, as well as the only state-designated pediatric hospital, Children’s Regional, in South New Jersey.
As large, complex healthcare systems pursue greater fiscal management, using an outside, independent audit company to work with their supply chain helps recover lost funds and find process improvements. The audit review will examine Cooper’s purchasing contracts, statements, returned goods, pricing, and other areas for funds lost through error or oversight.
When it discovers that a hospital was overcharged on goods, for example, TAG then works on behalf of the client to recover the funds from the vendor. During the audit process TAG reviews its client’s payable practices and recommends improvements for future savings.
Founded by John Weiss, Jr. 27 years ago, TAG was a pioneer in the are of healthcare purchasing and payables audits. Today, it continues to work nationally but exclusively in the healthcare industry in helping its clients improve their supply chain and payables procedures.
